MEET MAAJHI

We need endings because the most basic ending of all is built into us: our ability to die, our mortality, is a defining part of what it is to be human.

OUR FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Krittika Sharma

Krittika has over 13 years of experience in research, behavior design, and creative strategy. She has designed for wellbeing in multiple sectors. The interest and urgency to work in the end-of-life care space came after being profoundly impacted by a personal incident and she is deeply passionate about bringing dignity and wellbeing into the world of end-of-life care and the larger ecosystem of healthcare.

She is the former director of Death Over Dinner (India) – the largest social campaign in the globe that has had over 200,000 dinners. She introduced the concept in India. As a senior strategist and engagement manager, she was a core team member who conceived, built, and launched the first global End of Life (EOL) Collective – a digital platform for caregivers, care seekers, and service providers.

Krittika has presented her work on global platforms, she has authored a chapter on wellbeing in death and dying in the Science of Happiness commissioned by the Happiness Monk of Bhutan, and she mentors students who are interested in carving a path in the space of end-of-life care.

Krittika is passionate about ensuring that people have agency, dignity, information, and the right to die well and on their own terms with the grace that they deserve.

Currently, she is a Behavior Design Leader in the Health and Life Sciences practice at Fractal Analytics, where she continues to grow her learning and practice in behavior design and healthcare.

THE STORY OF OUR IDENTITY

Death and dying are words that tend to bring a sense of discomfort among many of us. In certain cultures, it is taboo to speak about it and it is treated as the dark side of our human existence. This is just one of the connotations.

In our early discussions about the visual approach of Maajhi, we were inspired by the idea of putting the viewer at the helm of their journey, thereby empowering them to engage with loss as navigators. The simple lines of our logo create a graceful look and articulate the etiquette of personal choice beautifully. In addition, it is supported by directional elements such as compasses and stars along with the ethereal and iridescent representation of the water and vessel.
